Good news for university students! For this year 2025, the Transportation Scholarship has been launched in CDMX to support students to cover their transportation expenses and more. We’ll tell you about it.
Are you an undergraduate student and you have to make daily transfers to get to school? The Government of the CDMX could grant you an economic benefit to make it easier for you to get there.
The first thing you should know is that this is an economic support aimed at undergraduate students in school or mixed mode, who are enrolled in public institutions in the CDMX and the Metropolitan Zone of the Valley of Mexico.
This scholarship prioritizes residents of neighborhoods, districts or towns with medium, low or very low social development index, in order to remain and continue with their studies.
The amount of this economic support is $1,500 pesos bimonthly and is deposited directly to the beneficiaries so that they can cover the costs of their public transportation.
How to apply for the Transportation Scholarship in CDMX?
Not sure whether or not you are eligible for the 2025 Transportation Scholarship? We tell you the following criteria you must meet in order to apply:
- Be enrolled in a public bachelor’s degree program in the CDMX or in the Metropolitan Zone of the Valley of Mexico.
- Be in an academic or mixed mode.
- Be between 18 and 29 years old
- Be a resident of a neighborhood, barrio or town with medium, low or very low social development index.
- Not receive other similar economic support.
If you meet all the criteria, you can apply for your CDMX Transportation Scholarship on the official website, fill out the form with your personal information and attach the following documentation:
- Proof of enrollment
- CURP
- Official ID
- Proof of recent address
- Letter of motivation
Once this process is completed, you will be given a folio, to accredit the process at a later date. A list of selected beneficiaries will be announced at a later date for the delivery of documents at a scheduled appointment.
It is essential that you know that getting this economic support takes a process of dates. The opening of registration for this first semester was in February 2025, with the call for applications closing in March and the publication of results in April, to begin payments in May. If you wish to apply, we recommend you to be aware of the key dates of the scholarship process for the second semester of 2025.
