The National Museum of History Chapultepec Castle has announced that it will remain closed until further notice, and with this it joins the list of different museums in CDMX that announced their closure at the beginning of June 2025.
Through social networks, different cultural venues in our city have announced their temporary closure, and that we remain attentive to their publications to know more details before any change.
Chapultepec Castle announced that it would remain closed until further notice through a Facebook post that reads as follows:
“Attentive notice. Due to force majeure the Museum will remain closed. We apologize for any inconvenience this situation may cause. We invite you to stay tuned to our official channels on social networks, where we will inform any changes. We thank you for your understanding.”
It is important to highlight that the different museums that have announced their closure until further notice, are managed by the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH).
This closure comes after INAH announced on Sunday, June 1, that it would change the security person. It also announced that it lacks auxiliary police, which would affect the opening of cultural spaces, since without the presence of security personnel, museums cannot operate normally.
