The main feature of this place is that it maintains a dim lighting in order to simulate darkness. According to a press release from the Secretariat of the Environment (Sedema), the site is equipped with drinking fountains, thermal rocks and even infrared spotlights.
The idea is to show the importance of nocturnal animals, as well as to promote their conservation.
Here you will be able to see and meet different animals, such as the tropical owl, the red-kneed tarantula, raccoon, opossum and even the spotted skunk, among many others. You will even have the chance to see Madagascar cockroaches.
Chapultepec Zoo‘s Nocturnarium is located in the temperate forest biome. It will be open from 📅 Tuesday to Sunday and you can visit it from 🕛 11:00 to 15:00 hours.
