The season is here! Get ready to enjoy delicious food at the 2026 Chile en Nogada Festival in San Nicolás de los Ranchos, an event that this year celebrates its 25th anniversary, brimming with tradition and flavor.
This 25th edition of the International Chile en Nogada Festival will take place over four weekends: August 1–2, 8–9, 15–16, and 22–23. It is worth noting that this municipality in Puebla, nestled between the Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl volcanoes, is well known for producing the authentic ingredients that form the basis of the recipe, such as the poblano chili, the panochera apple, the lechera pear, the criollo peach, the pomegranate, and the Castilian walnut.
In 2026, the festival will celebrate its 25th anniversary, so they’ll be pulling out all the stops to pay tribute to this traditional dish in Mexican cuisine. So, in addition to a delicious feast, there will be a special program of cultural and artistic activities.
Each weekend, the festival will have a different theme with a corresponding programof events. The schedule is as follows:
- August 1 and 2: circus.
- August 8 and 9: medieval.
- August 15 and 16: folklore.
- August 22 and 23: To end the festival on a high note, there will be hot-air balloon rides and kite flying.
A Weekend at Sendela Park
It’s worth noting that the event will kick off on July 25 and 26 at Sendela Park, located in the city of Puebla. This first gathering will feature more than fifteen traditional cooks who will win you over with their seasoning. This is the first time the festival has come to this venue, so it’s a great location if you’re in Puebla de Zaragoza or if it’s closer to you from Mexico City.
