The capital’s Zócalo has already begun to transform… and yes, it will feature a completely free circus to celebrate Children’s Day.
As part of the Zocalito de las Infancias, a huge tent has already been set up next to three domes in blue, red, and green that will be part of the festival. The highlight is Circo Utopía, led by the Espectaculares Hermanos Fuentes Gasca, a company with a long history in Mexico and Latin America.
The show will have a Jurassic theme that will delight the little ones, as the circus will feature dinosaurs as the main characters. There will be special performances at 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., where you can see acts full of acrobatics, color, and surprises featuring these enormous creatures.
The idea is clear: to bring the traditional circus to all families free of charge in one of the city’s most iconic venues.
Ice rink, dinosaurs, and more free activities
In addition to the circus, the Zócalo will be transformed into a huge recreational park. A skating rink with technology that simulates ice is already being set up, along with display stands filled with skates ready for use.
There will also be two hot air balloons and an open-air exhibition by the Natural History Museum, where you can see replicas of species such as dinosaurs, whales, penguins, polar bears, and even a saber-toothed tiger. Giant figures, such as a frog, can already be seen in the surrounding area and will be part of this experience.
And that’s not all: the festival will include concerts, children’s workshops, wrestling matches, sports fields, a zip line, and immersive experiences for all ages.
