On Tuesday morning , September 9, the temporary closure of INBAL (National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature) museums in Mexico City was announced. Among the museums that closed their doors are the National Museum of San Carlos, the Palace of Fine Arts and the Museum of Modern Art, among others.
The closure was announced through an information card on the INBAL website. It was explained that these closures are due to “disagreements on the part of union sections”.

In addition to the Palace of Fine Arts other museums will remain closed until further notice. They are:

- Alameda Art Laboratory
- Ex Teresa Arte Actual
