Have you seen the coin machines at the Chapultepec Zoo? You can create your own commemorative coin with the design of your choice. It will only cost you $10 each.
During your next visit to the Chapultepec Zoo you will encounter two coin machines: one is right in front of the panda habitat Xin Xin and the other one a few steps away from Amphibium. Each one has different designs and allows you to engrave your $1 coin with the image of your choice: panda, bison, jaguar (two designs available), flamingo and salamander.
Get your coins from Chapultepec Zoo
Creating them is very simple. You only need a $1 coin (to engrave it) and a $10 coin (which is how much it costs to make your Chapultepec Zoo coin):
- Using the lever you must choose the design you want
- Place the coins on the top
- Pushes the coin box
- Turn the lever until your coin comes out
and that’s it! Your $1 coin will now have a very special design…and oval.
