It’s official! The Ecological Park of the CDMX has communicated that Casa Colibrí is now open and will have free tours during the weekends.
The first thing you should know is that the Parque Ecológico de la CDMX is a protected natural area that is home to different types of flora and fauna characteristic of the Basin of Mexico. Here inhabit cacomixtles, bats, snakes, birds of prey, butterflies, and of course, hummingbirds.
Located in the municipality of Tlalpan, this space began a process of socio-environmental rehabilitation since 2019 and now guided tours have been reactivated for you to get to know it on weekends. Here you will see unique landscapes, as they have been the result of the eruption of the Xitle volcano.
You can take two tours and in both of them you will visit Casa Colibrí, a space immersed in nature, the best part? These tours are 100% free.
What is in Casa Colibri and how to take the free tours?
At Casa Colibri you can choose between two free tours, one of one kilometer and one of four kilometers.
On both you can visit the interpretive trails, a butterfly garden and pollinator gardens where you will see hummingbirds.
Casa Colibrí also offers workshops, exhibitions and activities that revolve around environmental education.
How can you take part in the free tours of the CDMX Ecological Park? It’s easy! Just send an email to pecdmx.anp.sma@gmail.com. We recommend that you wear comfortable clothes, boots, a hat or cap, sunscreen, and bring water and snacks.
Remember that these guided tours are only available on weekends. However, you can discover the magic of Casa Colibrí from Monday to Sunday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
