Dance and chocolate have more in common than we imagine, and we’ll be able to see it for ourselves at Cenart! This venue is preparing a marathon of performances, chocolate sales, Colombian cuisine, and more free activities at the New Dance and New Music Festival, which will celebrate its 26th edition in March.
What’s it all about? From March 20 to 22, we’ll have the chance to discover new talents in music and dance in Mexico through a series of performances centered on cacao and chocolate: from its medicinal uses to its social and culinary significance. Here’s the program:
- 🎸 Contemporary Music Concert with Fractal Guitar Trio and pianist Reynol Arredondo 📆 Friday, March 20 ⏰ 4:00 p.m.
- 🎨 Opening of the exhibition “Las plegarias incorpóreas” by Román Barreto 📆 Friday, March 20 ⏰ 6:00 p.m.
- 🥁 Music Marathon (Gtrrrr, Tiembo Prieto, Matanga, Sonido Feral, and Cía. Hinojosa) 📆 Saturday, March 21 ⏰ 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- 💃 Dance Marathon (Esencia Oriental, Ruedo, Musas, Veracruz, Huasteca Hidalguense) 📆 Sunday, March 22 ⏰ 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- 🍫 Lecture on chocolate and cacao in music and dance 📆 Sunday, March 22 ⏰ 12:00 p.m.
- 🩰 Masterclass “Afro-descendant Dance Expressions” by Penélope Vargas 📆 Sunday, March 22 ⏰ 12:00 p.m.

Be sure to come hungry, because during the event there will be tents selling chocolate and Colombian cuisine; you’ll find them in Plaza Legorreta, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Through contemporary music, lectures, dance, and other artistic expressions, at Cenart you’ll discover why chocolate goes far beyond just taste. Best of all, you can rest assured that your wallet won’t take too much of a hit, since admission is free. See you this weekend!
