We’re entering the final stretch of the year, and there are already many events confirmed for this time of year, such as the 2026 Zócalo International Book Fair. Through an announcement, the Mexico City Department of Culture confirmed the date for this year’s event.
At each edition of this fair, various publishing houses participate to offer all kinds of books, such as novels, children’s books, fiction, poetry, and much more. Admission to the event is free.
When will the 2026 Zócalo International Book Fair take place?
According to the announcement issued by the Mexico City government agency, the 2026 Zócalo International Book Fair will take place from October 9 to 18. In addition to book sales, there will be activities for attendees every day of the event, such as presentations and talks.

What other events are confirmed for October 2026?
In addition to the Zócalo International Book Fair, there are several events in October that you won’t want to miss. On Saturday, the 17th, another edition of the Monumental Alebrijes Parade will take place, running from the Zócalo to Paseo de la Reforma; it will conclude with an exhibition of the participating pieces.
Of course, there will be no shortage of Day of the Dead events. The Mega Catrinas Procession will take place on Sunday, October 25, while the 2026 Day of the Dead Parade will be held on Saturday, October 31.
