Can you imagine celebrating the Day of the Dead with a ritual inside a grotto? This 2026, the famous restaurant La Gruta Teotihuacán will offer an experience that combines gastronomy, Catrinas, myths, and traditions related to this Mexican celebration.
It’s called “Renace, Siente, and Saborea,” a Day of the Dead experience that will be available from October 16 to November 16. You’ll be able to enjoy various activities and a special four-course menu.
Catrinas, Myths, and Legends at La Gruta Teotihuacán
The experience is divided into three parts: “Siente,” a guided tour of the Myths and Legends of the Catrinas. Here, a guide will recount various stories that are part of the Day of the Dead tradition.
Then it’s time for “Saborea.” The experience includes a special four-course menu inspired by the venue’s offering. It consists of an appetizer, soup, main course, and dessert.
In addition to presenting the dishes, the chef will personally explain their origin, history, and ingredients. The meal will be accompanied by an open bar featuring seasonal beverages made with local ingredients, light and dark beer, soft drinks, and bottled water.
A ritual inside a private grotto
The final part is called “Renace” and will take place inside a private grotto, reserved exclusively for each group of attendees. There, a ritual will be performed focused on personal renewal and honoring the memory of loved ones who have passed away.
The experience costs $2,150 per adult, while children ages 4 to 11 pay $580. You can enjoy this experience from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
