The wait is over! With pan de muerto, ceremonial cacao and pre-Hispanic gastronomy, Camino al Mictlán Fest 2025, the Day of the Dead festival of the Historic Center , will take place.
This event is a window to the culture and cosmovision of the Day of the Dead. There will be workshops and ceremonies that will bring you closer to pre-Hispanic rituals and the conception of death.
For example, the ceremonial cacao ritual, the obsidian ritual or the experience called “Message to the water”. There will also be artistic activities, such as an immersive theater play and a dance performance representing the soul’s path to Mictlán.

The festival will be made up of more than 70 exhibitors offering products from different states of Mexico: Puebla, Oaxaca, Veracruz, Tlaxcala, Guerrero and Chiapas. There will also be an exhibition of symbolic figures, such as alebrijes, skulls and catrinas.
When will Camino al Mictlán 2025 be the Day of the Dead festival?
The event will be from October 3 to 5, 2025, from 10:00 to 20:00 hours. The date is at the Palacio de la Autonomía de la UNAM, located at Lic. Primo de Verdad 2, Centro Histórico.
There are two types of tickets: basic and plus. The basic ticket is called “Opening of the Threshold” and costs $30. If you register in advance on the Adelitas Empresarias website, the price drops to $20.
This modality includes general access to the creative area, participation in the raffle, admission to a workshop and a make-up inspired by the nine levels of Mictlán.

The workshops that have no additional cost are:
- Message to the water
- Inner Mountains
- Obsidian Ritual
- Movement of the soul
The ticket plus is called “Journey to the Interior” and is an experience with spirit guides. The pre-sale price ranges from $50 to $150, while on the day of the event it will cost between $70 and $200; admission will be subject to availability.
This type of ticket includes theater presentation, mystical dance and ceremonial cacao ritual. Each activity has a maximum capacity of 70 people.
