A 2.20-meter tall catrina, photographs and various items of María Félix make up the Day of the Dead 2024 offering of the Museo de el Carmen, which was inaugurated last October 25.
Just as you read it. This year the museum ‘s ofrenda is dedicated to the Mexican actress, who passed away in 2002. It will be available until December 8, 2024. We tell you how it looks like.

According to a statement from the federal Ministry of Culture, this Day of the Dead ofrenda is divided into several nuclei, as it is also an exhibition. The first part exhibits part of María Félix‘s life and career, as well as the connection she had with the neighborhood of San Ángel.
The second part focuses on the film “Love and Sex”, which was filmed in San Ángel. Later, in the third core, you will find the Day of the Dead offering, which includes different items that belonged to the actress, such as antiques, clothing, ceramics and much more.
Of course, there is no shortage of papel picado and everything related to traditional ofrendas. Finally, you will see a catrina that measures 2.20 meters high, as well as a doll inspired by the actress.
The Museo de el Carmen is located at Avenida Revolución 4 y 6, Colonia San Ángel, Álvaro Obregón. The entrance fee is $80; however, access is free on Sundays.
