Sesame Street fans now have a new family-friendly activity to enjoy. The Elmo 2026 Race is coming to Mexico City with a sports event where you can walk or run alongside your favorite characters, and share the experience with your dog, since the event is pet-friendly.
The event will take place on August 29 in the Second Section of Chapultepec Forest, at the Xochipilli Fountain at 7:00 a.m., where there will be options for different fitness levels. If you prefer a relaxed pace, you can participate in the 3-kilometer walk. Those looking for a greater challenge can choose between the 5- and 10-kilometer races.
The T-shirts and medal will be inspired by Sesame Street
One of the major highlights of this year’s event will be its themed design. The official T-shirts will be inspired by various Sesame Street characters, while the commemorative medal will feature Elmo and Tango, making it a special keepsake for those who cross the finish line.
All registered participants will receive an official kit, as well as a medal upon completing the course.
Costs and Registration for the Elmo 2026 Race
Registration is now open and will remain available until August 21, 2026, at 4:00 p.m., or earlier if spots run out.
The costs are:
- 3-km Walk: $540 through August 21 and $590 during kit pickup, subject to availability.
- 5 km and 10 km Races: $590 through August 21 and $640 during kit pickup, if numbers are still available.
A 10% commission from the online registration platform will be added to these prices.
Kit pickup will take place on August 22, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at Inspark Plaza Carso, located at Lago Zurich 119, Colonia Granada, Miguel Hidalgo borough.
Registration is available through the Fhinix Sports platform, where each participant can choose their preferred distance and complete their registration.
