The Museo del Estanquillo is premiering an exhibition about fashion in Mexico and the way it has changed over the years. You can visit it now.
Through photos, clothing, illustrations and accessories you will discover part of the history of fashion in Mexico. In a press release, it was detailed that with this exhibition you will not only see iconic garments, but a testimony of what we were and what we are.
All about fashion in Mexico with this exhibition
The exhibition Pasado de moda. Pasarela de estilos en México is held at the Museo del Estanquillo (📍Isabel la Católica 26, Centro Histórico de la CDMX). It aims to give a tour through the history of fashion from the nineteenth to the twentieth century.
It is made up of more than 500 pieces, including drawings, magazines, clothes, photos and advertising articles. You will even see illustrations by different artists such as Héctor García and Ernesto García Cabral.
You will be transported to different eras through fashion. You will discover iconic designs, trends that caused a stir, costumes of movie stars and much more. There will be no shortage of traditional costumes and even wedding dresses. There will even be exhibits on social movements such as hippies and punks.
As you can see, you will take a historical tour through iconic garments. Each piece will take you back to a different era.
The exhibition is spread over two floors, in rooms 1 and 2 of the venue. You can visit it from now until January 2025. It is open from 📅Wednesday to Monday 🕛 from 10:00 to 18:00.
