To highlight the cultural and linguistic richness of Mexico City, the first “Mexico City Festival: Heart of Indigenous Languages and Cultures” will take place in the capital’s Zócalo. Admission is free.
The event will last just over a week and will feature all kinds of activities, such as presentations, panel discussions, talks, and even documentary screenings.

When is the Mexico City Festival, Heart of Indigenous Languages and Cultures, taking place in the Zócalo?
The festival will take place from April 3 to 12 , 2026. Activities will begin at 11:00 a.m. sharp every day of the event. It’s worth noting that it starts right during Holy Week, so you can take advantage of the holiday to stop by.
We recommend arriving early so you have a chance to see everything on offer. There will even be concerts in indigenous languages.
