It’s official! In October an exhibition on the film Soy Frankelda will arrive at the Cineteca Nacional. You will see original sets and puppets from the first Mexican stop motion film. Take note of all the details.
Soy Frankelda is a film that has already caused a stir even though it has not yet reached the big screen. It follows the story of Frankelda, a writer who is transported to a world full of fantastic characters.
This film, directed by Roy and Arturo Ambriz, is the first Mexican stop motion film. It will hit theaters nationwide on Thursday, October 23rd. And not only that, it will also have its own exhibition in CDMX.
Everything that is known about the exhibition of Soy Frankelda at the Cineteca Nacional
There is still no exact opening date but it is known that the exhibition will open in October and will be held at La Galería de la Cineteca Nacional México ( Avenida México Coyoacán 398, Xoco), according to a press release from the venue.
Throughout the exhibition you will see everything from concept art to sets and original puppets that were used to create this film. We recommend you prepare yourself because you will find great surprises in this exhibition.
It is worth mentioning that the film has received positive comments in the festivals where it has been presented. Guillermo del Toro even stated that the film “opens a door to the future of stop motion in Mexico… you have to believe to see”.
