The Interactive Museum of Economics (MIDE) is celebrating and wants to share the joy with everyone. To mark its 20th anniversary, the museum will offer completely free admission from Tuesday, July 7, through Sunday, July 12—a perfect opportunity to explore one of Mexico City’s most interactive museums without spending a single peso. The promotion is part of the celebrations marking its two decades of history and also invites visitors to discover its renovated spaces and new experiences.
What can you see at MIDE for free?
More than just a museum about economics, MIDE offers interactive experiences that explain how topics such as money, consumption, saving, sustainability, innovation, and technology are part of everyday life. In addition to its permanent exhibits, during your visit you’ll be able to explore renovated spaces and special anniversary activities. You’ll also find temporary exhibits such as “La vagabunda presenta: La inundación, ” the game “Serendipity,” and historical tours of the old Betlemitas building, the museum’s headquarters.

If you haven’t visited MIDE yet, this is one of the best opportunities to do so. General admission normally costs 160 pesos, but during this celebration, admission will be free for everyone. The museum is located right in the heart of the Historic Center, just a few minutes from the Allende and Bellas Artes Metro stations, so getting there by public transportation is very easy.
