In the CDMX you will find several venues and museums with free guided tours. In each of these places we will introduce you to offer guided tours in which you will learn more about the place, as well as details about their exhibitions.
It is an excellent activity to complement your visit to the place and discover details and secrets that you probably had not noticed.
Charrería Museum
This museum exhibits the entire history of charrería. You will learn about the beginnings of this discipline, as well as curiosities. Of course the costumes are not lacking, even in the permanent exhibition you will see the saddle of Vicente Fernandez and articles of Pancho Villa.
The best thing is that during your tour you won’t be alone, because the guide will explain everything you need to know about charrería.

Museum of Popular Art
Through its permanent and temporary exhibitions, this precinct exhibits the history and tradition of popular art in Mexico.
Guided tours are open to teachers and students, as well as the general public. During the tour you will learn about the permanent exhibitions, temporary exhibits and the history of the building.
The visit lasts approximately two hours and has no extra cost; you just have to pay your entrance ticket ($60).
📍Museo de Arte Popular (Revillagigedo 11, Centro Histórico, alcaldía Cuauhtémoc).
🕛Guided tours from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
📞You must make a reservation at Servicios Educativos at the number: 5510 2201 extension 129. You can do so from Monday to Friday from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm. Afterwards, you must write to Maestro Walther Boelsterly Urrutia, general director of the museum, and send it to malopezh@cdmx.gob.mx .
San Ildefonso School
The site has a couple of guided tours in which you will learn more about the site and the murals in it; in fact if you are looking to learn more about muralism this is the ideal place. Both tours are included with the admission ticket ($50), while on Sundays there is free admission.
If the tour is for a special group you should contact the venue.

Visit to the mural collection and Octavio Paz memorial: Tuesday 11:30 am, 12:30 pm and 1:30 pm. Visit to the mural collection, Patio Chico and Octavio Paz Memorial: Wednesday to Sunday 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m.
No reservations are required, but the tour is subject to availability.
Jumex Museum
The museum opened its doors at the end of 2013 and since then has been dedicated to promoting contemporary art. It has guided tours of its exhibitions and they are aimed at all audiences.

Palace of Fine Arts
This is not a museum but a must-see. One of the venues that has free guided tours is the Palace of Fine Arts. The tour lasts about 90 minutes and will take you to see the glass curtain, dressing rooms, boxes, terraces and many more spaces.

🕛Visits Tuesday to Friday at 1:00 p.m. and 1:30 p.m.
📞It is free admission but space is limited. You must pre-register half an hour before the tour in the main lobby.
