It’s not AI, it’s Mexico City! A giant moon hangs over Paseo de la Reforma…Still not sure what it’s all about? This monumental piece is part of a light festival that will welcome spring 2026. We’re just a few days away from this avenue lighting up for a short season!
On March 17, the Mexico International Festival of Lights (FILUX) confirmed that it is returning to the city with a new exhibition called “Solo la luz, primavera,” an exhibition that will consist of thirteen pieces located between the Angel of Independence and the Lions’ Gate in Chapultepec Forest.
This year, Solo la luz will surprise us with thirteen light art pieces, all focused on spring. Among them are Miguel Bolivar’s Valle de las mariposas , Kosmos by Flowers of Life, and Alma que flota by Amauri Sanabria. You can find more information about all the works here.

One that has caught our attention is Museum of the Moon, a giant moon created by artist Luke Jerram that appears to float above Paseo de la Reforma. This piece has been exhibited in thirty countries, including the Natural History Museum in London. And this spring, it will beautify our city!
The CDMX Secreta team has already taken a look and we can confirm that it’s a wonderful piece; you can find it right here.
Remember that Solo la luz, primavera will be on display for a short time: from March 20 to 29.
What time will the FILUX sculptures be lit up?
Although the exhibition will be open all day, visiting at night is the best option, as you’ll be treated to an unparalleled light display. These works will be illuminated from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM.

Get ready to welcome spring with a captivating light-filled journey… see you on the moon!
