Giselle ballet performances have already begun at the Palacio de Bellas Artes! For almost all of November you can enjoy this classic work in one of the most emblematic venues in Mexico City.
Giselle is a classic work that premiered in 1841. Its story is based on the legend of the Wilis: the spirit of those brides who were betrayed, as detailed by the Ministry of Culture through a statement. It is said that these spirits usually roam the forests and punish unfaithful men to make them pay for their betrayal.
As the name suggests, the protagonist of this story is Giselle, who has a tragic destiny after she discovers the deceit of the man she loved.
The work you will see at Bellas Artes presents a contemporary reading of this classic ballet. Keep an eye on the details so you don’t miss this show, as there will be only a few performances.
