It’s no surprise that Mexico is full of talented hands. However, this January you can get up close and personal with the wonders made by 100% Chilango talent at “Manos de la Ciudad: Alebrijes y artesanía viva” we tell you more about alebrijes and more at Punto México!
This exhibition celebrates Chilango creativity in all its splendorous diversity. The exhibition comes to Punto México and the Museo del Palacio Postal to become a direct window to the talent, tradition and imagination of the capital’s artisans.
Ceramics, textiles and alebrijes at Punto México
In this exhibition what shines is the popular art made in the CDMX. From alebrijes born in family workshops to ceramic pieces, textiles, sculptures, jewelry, toys and cardboard, each work tells a handmade story, full of symbols, memory and that unique touch that only craftsmanship can give.
The exhibition brings together materials, techniques and processes that show why the urban and traditional art of the capital is so recognizable inside and outside the country.
In addition to the tour of the pieces, you can enjoy gastronomy, expressions of living culture and warm and colorful spaces that bring you closer to the creativity of the CDMX while supporting local talent.
“Manos de la Ciudad” seeks to connect the public with the stories behind each piece: the hours of work, the ancestral knowledge, the materials that come to life and the passion that drives each artisan to continue creating.
