Don’t forget your sunscreen! The Secretariat of Comprehensive Risk Management and Civil Protection issued a special advisory because a heat wave is coming to Mexico City this weekend; that means we’ll end April with high temperatures.
Through its official accounts, the agency explained that this heat wave will begin on Saturday, April 25, and end on Thursday, April 30, meaning it will last nearly a week.
During this time, we will see high temperatures ranging from 29 to 32 degrees Celsius across most of Mexico City. In addition, there will be strong gusts of wind as well as high UV radiation levels; therefore, it is important to take certain precautions.
Here’s how you can protect yourself from the April heat wave in Mexico City
This heat wave will affect areas in several Mexican states, including Tlaxcala, the State of Mexico, Tabasco, Hidalgo, and Veracruz, among others, according to the National Weather Service forecast.
Although rain is expected this weekend in Mexico City and the State of Mexico, it is important that we protect ourselves from the heat. It is recommended that:
- Drink plenty of fluids
- Wear light, light-colored clothing
- Don’t forget to wear a cap or hat
- Avoid prolonged exposure to the sun
- Use sunscreen
