The night sky is about to light up with colorful lights and lots of magic. The Festival del Papalote de Chilcuautla is an event where you can see illuminated and giant kites, as well as monumental balloons. You still have time to plan your family getaway!
The celestial festival is called Festival Papalotl 2025 and will be held on August 16 and 17. Admission is free, and there will be kite launches and activities starting at 3:00 pm.
At nightfall the kites of lights and giant balloons will fly, one of the most anticipated moments of the festival. You will see artistic pieces, elaborated by artists from the municipality of Chilcuautla, Hidalgo.
The program of activities has not yet been revealed, but we can tell you that there will be music, sporting events and a gastronomic area, all in one place!
The illuminated kite festival is two hours away from CDMX
This event will be held at the Unidad Deportiva de Chilcuautla, just two hours from downtown Mexico City (by car). Remember that this is an estimated time that could change depending on the point, day and time of departure.
