From avocado and multifloral to orange blossom honey. Mielosa is a project that offers experiences centered around honey, whether you’re tasting different varieties at a tasting event or visiting their apiary in southern Mexico City to learn about beekeeping and the care of bees.
We didn’t know how honey is made, the different types, or how to recognize pure honey. That’s why we joined this tasting, where we discovered step by step how it’s made, its importance, and the myths that circulate in kitchens and around the table. All while tasting honeys from Mexico City and other states like Michoacán, Puebla, and Zacatecas.
Rebeca Cornejo is the face of Mielosa. She is a veterinarian specializing in beekeeping, so she’ll share insights gained from her studies and the experience she’s acquired at her apiary in Milpa Alta.

Note: this is not an academic workshop, but a gathering for your palate to explore different profiles, just as with wine, mezcal, or other foods.
During a brunch-style gathering, you’ll discover aromas, flavors, and textures you may never have imagined. You’ll also be able to pair the honey with fruits, bread, and cheeses included in your visit.
It’s worth noting that the tasting takes place in a beautiful showroom that encourages long conversations and even a few photos to show off on Instagram.
How much does this Mielosa CDMX honey tasting cost?

The cost per person is $850, which includes a tasting of different honeys, cheeses, fruits, and other options shared with the group. It also includes a glass of mead. This experience takes place on weekends in the San Rafael neighborhood.
You can also opt for a visit to the apiary. This costs $1,500 and includes round-trip transportation to Milpa Alta, as well as a picnic with honey tasting.
In any case, it’s essential that you reserve your spot. You can contact Mielosa via Instagram.
Whether out of curiosity or pure culinary pleasure, visiting Mielosa is a unique experience that will leave you with a very good taste in your mouth. Don’t forget to bring your camera—the place is worth it!
