Azcapotzalco is one of the most historic districts of the CDMX, and now you can learn all its secrets by traveling through its streets in the Hormibús. This train has 100% free tours with different themes.
The first thing you should know is that there are 5 routes that you can take on the train, and one more that you can walk. All tours are guided and have no cost:
- Route 1: San Juan Tlihuaca
- Route 2: Museums of Tezozómoc
- Route 3: Claveria
- Route 4: Legends in Claveria with chroniclers
- Route 5: La Nave del Olvido
- Route 6: Historic Center of Azcapotzalco (Walking Route)
It is important for you to know that all the routes leave from the Dux de Venecia, since that is where the bay where the Hormibús parks is located.
What sites do you visit on the Hormibús?
These secret tours have been a novelty in the area since 2024, becoming a success for locals and visitors to the city.
In each route you visit different places, so we assure you that you will not get bored and you will know new places that you never imagined were in the area. The places you will visit per route are:
– San Juan Tlihuaca Route
You can take this tour every day at 11:00 am. You will visit the Dos Juanes Church, La Glorieta De Los Ahuehuetes, El Vivero De Alberto Flores and El Panteón Comunitario.
– Tezozómoc Museum Tour
In this tour you will learn more about the Tezozómoc Museum and the Three Dimensional Museum. Available on weekends at 1:00 pm.
– Claveria Route
On weekdays you can take this tour at 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm. You will visit the Parque de la China, La casa de José José and more.
– Route Legends in Claveria with chroniclers
Every weekend at 6:00 pm you can learn more about Claveria, one of the most emblematic neighborhoods in Azcapotzalco. Ready for a little bit of urban legends?
– La Nave del Olvido Route
The newest route will begin its tours on June 7 and can be taken on Saturdays at 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm, but be careful, it will only run until August 30!
Inspired by the Prince of Song, you will visit the Azcapotzalco market, the Parque de la China, José José José’s house, the school where José José José studied, the Parque de los Vagos, and the Fogón De Los Chintololos.
– Azcapotzalco Historic Center Route (Walking Route)
Undoubtedly one of the favorites! This tour departs every hour from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm and is available every day. You will visit La Casa De Las Bombas, the Hidalgo Garden, the Fray Bartolomé de las Casas Library, the Casa de Cultura, and the Parish of Azcapotzalco.
