Did you know? A few days ago, a new skate spot opened its doors with completely free access. We tell you all about the new skating rink in Tezozómoc Park.
Where there was an old rink, there is now a new 1,098 m² rink. This place has been completely transformed to become a space where skating lovers will be able to enjoy themselves to the fullest, for young and old!
This achievement is part of the integral recovery of Tezozómoc Park, located in the Azcapotzalco district and very visited by the neighbors of the area.
If there was already a skating rink, what’s new about this one? Well, the first thing you need to know is that the new skating rink at Tezozómoc Park was built on the base of the one that was already built, improving the skating terrain and adding different elements such as stamped walkways, concrete walls and a metal structure with a protective roof to avoid rain and sun.
In addition, you will be able to go skating at night, since 36 poles with LED lights were installed, and bleachers and terraces were set up so that visitors can rest and have a good view of the rink.
Besides the skating rink, what can you do in Tezozómoc Park?
You should know that this is not just any park, since it was inaugurated in 1982 and has an extension of 28 hectares, isn’t it quite big? Its name refers to the ruler of the Tepaneca empire, born in Azcapotzalco.
Here you will find large green areas and an artificial lake that represents the emblematic Lake Texcoco. You will find playgrounds for children, and it is a paradise for athletes, as you will find courts to play basketball, soccer and tennis.
There are walking trails, jogging tracks and even a bike path with stations that narrate the history of pre-Hispanic Mexico.
You should know that the park also has a chinampa, a theater and picnic areas. In addition, in March 2023 a butterfly park was inaugurated, where you will learn more about butterflies, bats, beetles and other animals.
You can visit the park from Tuesday to Sunday from 6:00 to 18:00 hours. It is located at Manuel Salazar S/N, Hacienda del Rosario, Prados del Rosario, Azcapotzalco.
