Want to know if your phone line is already registered? You’ve come to the right place! We’ll walk you through the process for verifying this information online.
As you know, the registration of phone lines in Mexico began a few months ago. Through this process, your number will be linked to your CURP. The official registration website explains that the purpose of this process is “to identify and suspend anonymous phone lines used for crimes such as fraud, extortion, or virtual kidnapping over the phone.”
How can I tell if my phone line is already registered?
To see which numbers are linked to your CURP, go to the registration website and select the “Check Lines” option. You’ll be redirected to another website where you’ll need to choose the carrier associated with your number.
When you select an option, you’ll be redirected to the phone company’s website. The process varies by provider. For example, Telcel will ask you to show your official ID, while AT&T only requires you to enter your CURP.
We recommend having an official ID and your CURP on hand before starting the process. Once you enter the necessary information, it will show you which numbers are currently associated with your CURP.
What is the deadline for registering a phone line?
Originally, the deadline for registering phone lines was June 30; however, this deadline has been extended. Now, the deadline will depend on the last digit of your cell phone number.
