The first details of the International Firefly Festival 2025 have been released! Write down the date and all the information so you don’t miss this year’s edition.
The rainy season is almost here and with it the fireflies arrive to illuminate the forests. This year there will be a festival in the State of Mexico dedicated to these insects. There are concerts, workshops and much more.
This is what the International Firefly Festival 2025 will be like.
This year 2025 the festival will take place from July 11 to 13 in different municipalities of the State of Mexico. Japan will be the guest country; while Tlaxcala will be this year’s guest state.
During the festival there will be firefly watching so you will have the opportunity to learn more about these insects and the ecosystem where they usually live. Of course you will enjoy their glow in a nocturnal environment.
However, this is not the only activity that will take place. There will also be concerts and cultural and artistic presentations. In addition, there will be sports activities, as well as many surprises.
Of course, food will not be missing, as there will be gastronomy and handicrafts for sale. The complete program of this festival will be announced later, but in the meantime, save the date for a summer getaway from CDMX.
A total of eight municipalities of the State of Mexico are participating in this festival: Amecameca, Tlalmanalco, Tepetlaoxtoc, Ixtapaluca, Texcoco, Ecatzingo, Chalco and Ayapango.
