If your go-to karaoke song is “ Abrázame muy fuerte ” and you always respond with “lo que se ve no se pregunta” in conversations with your friends, you definitely won’t want to miss the new group exhibition on Juan Gabriel at the Museo del Chopo.
To commemorate the tenth anniversary of the singer’s passing and as part of the International Festival for Sexual Diversity (FIDS), the museum will open *Un lugar de ambiente. Legado y disidencia* next Thursday, May 28, at 6:00 p.m.
Our beloved Juanga will serve as the starting point for addressing issues such as censorship, violence against gender identity, and the fight for the community’s rights.
According to Gaceta UNAM, the exhibition will consist of three main themes: Juan Gabriel’s imprisonment in Lecumberri, the deconstruction of the charro figure, and, finally, the relationships he formed with female artists.
As we mentioned, this is an exhibition featuring various artists such as Fabián Chairez, Zule Camarena, Bárbara Sánchez-Kane, and Ángel Cammen, to name a few. The curatorship was led by Carlos Segoviano alongside Abril Castro Prieto.

Remember that the museum is open Wednesday through Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; admission is free on Wednesdays. On other days, general admission is $40. Students, teachers, the UNAM community, and seniors with INAPAM pay $20, while children under 12 enter for free.
If you’re a fan of “El Noa Noa,” “Amor eterno,” and “La diferencia,” you have to visit the exhibition on Juan Gabriel at the Museo del Chopo, located at Dr. Enrique González Martínez 10, Santa María la Ribera, Cuauhtémoc.
