The first edition of 2026 of the El Solar Market already has a date and venue, and it’s shaping up to be a great weekend plan in Mexico City.
The event will take place on Saturday, January 17, and Sunday, January 18, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with free admission at the Los Pinos Cultural Complex.
For two days, this market will bring together producers from five states in the country, who will bring with them a huge variety of local, natural, and artisanal products.
Here you can find everything from fresh chinampa vegetables and seasonal fruit from the State of Mexico to artisan bread made in Michoacán, ornamental plants from Tlaxcala, and edible insects and mushrooms from Mexico City.

In addition to conscious shopping, you can also enjoy delicious food. Among the must-try items are artisanal huaraches from Michoacán, ideal for recharging your energy as you browse the stalls.
There will also be less common products steeped in history, such as those made from ixtle, a plant fiber extracted from the lechuguilla agave that has been used in Mexico since ancient times to create textiles, ropes, and handicrafts.
Ixtle is known for its strength and durability, and today it is experiencing a new boom as an eco-friendly alternative to plastics.

Cocinas de Humo: a feast of traditional flavors
In addition to the market, this weekend Cencalli’s Cocinas de Humo will be open to the public from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., also with free admission. Here you can taste traditional dishes that celebrate the country’s gastronomic diversity.
There will be tlacoyos and quesadillas from the State of Mexico, lake cuisine from Michoacán, barbecue from Hidalgo, cochinita pibil from Azcapotzalco, and drinks such as atole de granillo, as well as molotes poblanos.
An extra tip: the venue has parking for visitors, so arriving by car is also an option.
