To quote Mariah Carey: it’s timeeee. The holiday season is just around the corner. Don’t miss the opportunity to enjoy a medieval Christmas in the Desert of Lions. It’s an event where you’ll see epic combat, rituals, games and even a living nativity. Save the date!
Medieval Christmas Enchanted Yule is an event organized by Kamelot, The King’s Castle. The idea is to transport you back to medieval times, where you’ll meet magical beings, knights and princesses.
You will even learn more about the Yule festival, which commemorated the winter solstice marking the end of darkness and the arrival of light. The event will take place next Sunday December 15th at the ex Convent of Desierto de los Leones (Mexico-Toluca highway S/N, Cuajimalpa).
It will be from 11:00 to 17:00. The entrance fee is $250 per person. Senior citizens and people with disabilities pay $150; while children under 10 years old are free.
What will be in the Medieval Christmas at Desierto de los Leones this 2024?
You’ll find different activities that will make you feel like you’re in medieval times, including combat, bagpipe music, falconry performances, medieval weddings, archery, Arabian dance, elves’ village, games and more.
There will even be a staging of the story of St. Nicholas of Bari, which will be led by actor Alejandro Villeli.
Of course there will also be Christmas activities, such as a living nativity scene. As in previous editions, there will be a flea market where you can buy everything from treasures and medieval clothing to armor.
You should know that transportation to the event will be provided. The cost depends on when you hire it. If you pay before November 17 the cost of the round trip is $230, while the transfer plus the entrance fee will be $430. After that date the prices will be $260 and $460 respectively.
The departure point is Metro Patriotismo at 10:00 am. The return will be at 4:30 pm.
