Enjoy El Jarabe Tapatío live! The Orquesta de Cámara de Minería will give a Mexican concert at UNAM, on the occasion of the national holidays. You have no excuse to miss it, because it’s free admission.
We have already activated the chiles en nogada and, as there is no Mexican celebration without good music, we recommend this show that will bring out your tricolor spirit.
The presentation will take place next Thursday, September 18 at the Dr. Raoul Fournier Villada auditorium of the School of Medicine (in Ciudad Universitaria).
The Orquesta de Cámara de Minería will play emblematic songs such as Las 2 Huastecas, Aires Mexicanos and even José Pablo Moncayo’ s Huapango. The program is as follows:
- Jarabe Tapatío,
- Aires Mexicanos,
- La Rielera and La Adelita,
- Las 2 Huastecas,
- Estrellita,
- Zacatecas March,
- Jesuit in Chihuahua,
- Alejandra, Waltz,
- Mexican Overture and
- Huapango.
What time does the Mexican concert start at the Faculty of Medicine, UNAM?

The performance starts at 4:00 pm and access is free. Consider that the auditorium has capacity for 965 people, so the capacity is limited. We recommend you to anticipate your arrival.
Can’t make it to this show?
Don’t worry if you don’t have the opportunity to attend, because there will be other Mexican-themed presentations in Mexico City. For example, the mariachi concert at Chapultepec Lake. Of course, there will also be shows to celebrate the Grito in each city hall; check the list here.
Now, let’s celebrate with the best of Mexican music!
