If you want to travel to every corner of our country but don’t always have the chance to leave the city, this festival might be a great starting point for a new artistic and gastronomic adventure. It’s called Michoacán en Los Pinos, an event that will introduce us to some of the cultural highlights of this state.
Artisans, traditional cooks, musicians, producers, and people from various towns across Michoacán will gather here; they’ll give us a taste of their flavors and traditions through a delicious menu, local products, and live performances.
At the Plaza de las Jacarandas, you’ll find various food options such as rompope, powdered lemon, ice cream, and potatoes. There will also be other items representative of different municipalities and towns, such as bags, copperware, glazed pottery, and more.

Go with an appetite, as the wood-fired kitchens will be preparing delicacies such as guajillo-spiced pork spine, aporreado de carne seca, toqueres, and sesame panochas for dessert. Of course, authentic Michoacán carnitas will be on the menu as well.
Don’t leave so quickly after the feast, as you’ll be able to enjoy dance performances by the Tlahualiles de Sahuayo and the Michoacán State Folk Ballet. The music will be provided by the Sïrankua Duo, performing Purépecha pieces.
To truly experience Michoacán, it takes much more than a road trip, and you’ll discover this at the festival in Los Pinos , taking place on April 11 and 12, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Don’t hesitate to invite your favorite people— admission is free!
