We started November with the news of the Mumedi’s closure. But don’t worry, because apparently it will be temporary. The truth is that very soon they will be opening a new venue.
The Mexican Museum of Design (better known as Mumedi) began its history in 2002. According to the Cultural Information System, the objective of this venue is to support the work of both international and national designers. In addition to the exhibition halls, it had a cafeteria, a store and a bookstore.
Within its walls we have seen incredible exhibitions, including one of Snoopy and another of the Pink Panther. Surely you have visited the museum, which until now was located on Madero Street in the Historic Center.
After several years there, the museum has decided to move.
Closure of the Mumedi will be temporary: they will have a new location.
Through its social networks, this museum announced that it will close its facilities located in the Historic Center of Mexico City. But that does not mean they are leaving forever.
The idea is to open “a new venue more accessible to all”, as detailed through an announcement in official accounts. So don’t worry, the museum is not going away forever, it will only change its location. So far it is not known what will be its new address; however, they detailed that very soon they will announce all the information about it.
Stay tuned, they will soon announce the new place where you can visit it.
