Good news for art lovers! MUMEDI in CDMX is back. After closing its iconic Centro Historico location in November 2024, the Mexican Museum of Design has reopened its doors in a new, more accessible location.
Now known as “The Embassy of Design,” the renovated MUMEDI offers much more than exhibitions. In this modern and creative space you can enjoy graphic, industrial, typographic, illustration, jewelry and fashion design, but also unique experiences in its signature café and boutique store.
All about the new MUMEDI
You will find it open from Tuesday to Sunday from 8:00 to 19:00 hours at Donato Guerra corner Bucareli, local 4, in Colonia Juárez.
The museum invites you to rediscover its essence with a renewed proposal and a concept closer to the public. One of the great successes is that it is now 100% pet friendly, so you can visit it with your pet. In addition, its menu has been redesigned to surprise even the most demanding palates.
The announcement of the reopening generated expectation since November 2024, when the museum communicated on social networks its decision to close after 22 years in the Historic Center to “take a step into the future”. After months of trails and preparations, the MUMEDI officially reopened on July 25, 2025.
This space continues to be a meeting point for creatives and design lovers, but now it is also a perfect place to spend the day, have coffee with bread, buy unique pieces and live in a cultural and contemporary atmosphere.
