Stop everything because a new museum dedicated to the artist Frida Kahlo will open in CDMX! Unlike the Casa Azul, this place will focus on the artist’s life and family history.
The space will be called Museo Casa Kahlo and will be located in Casa Roja. It is a residence that Frida’s parents inherited from her and her sisters. The location is on Aguayo Street in Coyoacán.
With information from The New York Times en Español, this is a private residence where Cristina Kahlo lived and inherited to her daughter (Isolda) and later to her granddaughter Mara Romeo Kahlo.
While the Blue House spreads Frida’ s work and her life with Diego Rivera, the Red House will be focused on telling the story of her origin, and you will discover how her father influenced her professional career!
The exact opening date has not been revealed at this time. However, the new Frida Kahlo museum is scheduled to open in the fall of 2025.
We are more than eager to get to know this place that will bring us closer to the life and work of the most recognized Mexican painter of all times! Who will you go with to discover it?
