The World Cup festivities will continue to grow in Mexico City! The city recently announced the installation of new giant screens to watch Mexico play in Mexico City, with the goal of allowing more people to gather and support the Mexican national team during its upcoming 2026 World Cup matches.
The measure aims to better distribute the thousands of fans who gather in the Historic Center and on Paseo de la Reforma during El Tri’s matches, as well as to strengthen security and civil protection measures in the most crowded areas.
These are the new locations where giant screens will be set up
According to the Mexico City government, seven new viewing locations will be set up in some of the city’s most iconic areas. The confirmed locations are:
- Monument to the Revolution
- Torre del Caballito
- Angel of Independence
- Glorieta de la Diana Cazadora
- Intersection of Paseo de la Reforma and Insurgentes
- Avenida Juárez
- Alameda Central
In addition, multiple screens will be set up at several of these locations to increase spectator capacity and make it easier for more people to watch the match without having to go to the Zócalo.
Mexico City is preparing for a larger influx of fans
City authorities anticipate even higher attendance for Mexico’s upcoming matches, so thousands of public servants and special operations teams will also be deployed in the downtown area and along Paseo de la Reforma. Among the announced measures are steps to regulate the sale and consumption of alcohol in public spaces during the broadcasts.
These new locations join the Fan Fest at the Zócalo and the screens already operating at various points throughout the Historic Center, making Mexico City one of the main venues for experiencing the World Cup atmosphere outside the stadiums.
