Can you imagine a Day of the Dead offering designed by some of Mexico’s most renowned architects? From October 30 to November 3, Open House CDMX returns with a special edition that combines architecture, design, and tradition across six venues throughout the city.
For five days, you’ll be able to discover contemporary altars created by architects and designers such as Michel Rojkind, Miguel de la Torre, Lucio Muniain, and Axel Arañó, who will reinterpret this tradition through memory, materials, and space.
The event will also feature workshops, special tours, and meet-and-greets with the creators of the offerings.
Where will the offerings for Open House CDMX 2026 be located?
One of the unique features of this edition is that you’ll be able to explore different architectural spaces throughout the city, each with its own distinct concept. Here are the six participating venues:
- Casa Ortega: 22Gral . Francisco Ramírez, Daniel Garza. Participants include Miguel de la Torre, Lucio Muniain, Axel Arañó, and students from ArqIbero.
- Roma Neighborhood: Av. Sonora 80, Roma Norte. Participants include Michel Rojkind and Riparia.
- Casa Rosa: Aristóteles 127, Polanco. Featuring Bandido and Raúl de la Cerda.
- Proyectos Paraíso: Huichapan 25, Hipódromo Condesa. Featuring Adán Carabés.
- Location: Colima 249, Roma Norte. Featuring Andrés Gutiérrez.
- Taller Nacional: Lucerna 32, Juárez.
Among the highlights is a collaboration between Bandido and Jacobo and María Ángeles, which will bring together contemporary lighting and traditional Oaxacan craftsmanship.
There will be workshops, tours, and special activities
In addition to visiting the altars, you can participate in experiences such as the workshop “Living Laboratory: Earth, Lime, and Memory,” dedicated to natural materials, and a nighttime tour of the Historic Center called “The Deities That Persist in the City.”
There will also be on-site activities with architects, panel discussions, and creative experiences. Some require advance registration and are subject to availability.
General admission tickets are now on sale for $190, while VIP tickets priced at $650 are sold out.
