Open House is back, this time with a Day of the Dead theme, offering an experience that blends architecture, design, and one of Mexico’s most important traditions. From October 30 to November 3, you can visit five venues across the city to admire and marvel at contemporary offerings created by architects, designers, and firms.
This edition of Open House Día de Muertos will have a more intimate and curated format than previous editions. The idea is to view the offerings from a different perspective: each participant will create their own interpretation of this tradition using different materials, architectural languages, and creative approaches.
General admission will cost $190 per person, and space is limited.
What will you find at Open House Día de Muertos 2026?
The offerings will not be presented solely as pieces to be observed. Each one will be conceived in relation to the architecture of the space where it is installed, exploring themes such as rituals, tradition, and memory.
Participants include Miguel de la Torre, Lucio Muniain, Fermín Espinosa, Axel Arañó, Bandido, Raúl de la Cerda, Adán Carabes, Andrés Gutiérrez, and Taller Nacional, who will present different perspectives on the Day of the Dead.
The installations will be distributed across five venues in Mexico City, located in neighborhoods such as Ampliación Daniel Garza, Polanco, Condesa, Roma Norte, and Colonia Juárez. The specific venues are to be confirmed.
There will be tours, workshops, and special activities
In addition to visiting the contemporary offerings, the Open House CDMX program will include tours, workshops, and special events designed to connect this tradition with the spaces and daily life of the contemporary city.
The 2026 edition will run for five days, so you’ll have plenty of time to explore different architectural and design concepts while discovering the stories, ideas, and rituals that inhabit these spaces.
