Starting this weekend you can visit some of the Day of the Dead monumental ofrendas that will be installed in different parts of Mexico City. Go organize your agenda because there will be a lot to see, especially in the Zócalo, where monumental figures up to 10 meters high will be placed.
This is your last chance to visit them because many of them will be finished on November 2. Make your Day of the Dead plans to visit them all!
Where will the monumental Day of the Dead ofrendas be in CDMX?

Anahuacalli

The volcanic stone of the Diego Rivera Anahuacalli Museum is filled with color with its Day of the Dead offering dedicated to Frida Kahlo and Rosa Rolanda, two artists who worked with their identity as the axis of their work. Rosa may not be as well known as Frida, but she should be! Forerunner of the Chicano movement, dancer and choreographer, photographer and jeweler, this is the perfect opportunity to meet her.
📅 Tuesday to Sunday through November 30.
🕛 11:00-17:30
📍Museum 150, San Pablo Tepetlapa
Zócalo

Dedicated to the 700 years since the founding of Mexico-Tenochtitlan, the monumental offering in the Zocalo features 10-meter-high pieces of cartoneria, thousands of cempasúchil flowers and illuminated figures all over the plancha. The most impressive piece is the tribute to Tonantzin and the colorful sawdust carpet. Mind you, everyone will want to see it, so take your precautions.
📅 until November 2.
🕛 Open 24 hours (we recommend going at night to enjoy the illumination).
📍Zócalo, Centro Histórico de la CDMX
UNAM

This year’s UNAM Megaofrenda will be titled “Huellas de nuestra historia. Migrations, exile, refuge and displacement”. Participants must address the theme of migration and everything that surrounds this phenomenon. They will talk about the migration of the fauna that passes through our country, that of our fellow countrymen who seek a better quality of life or about people who have left their countries and found refuge in Mexico.

Casa Azul

The Frida Kahlo Museum put together a shared offering between Frida Kahlo and Juan O’Gorman to celebrate their connection in life. Their admiration and friendship is the theme that sets the tone for the ofrendas, each with symbolic elements of Frida and Juan, but with huge mirrors reflecting the other’s altar to symbolize their bond. This beautiful ofrenda reminds us that in friendship and in art there is always room for encounter.
