This Sunday morning, April 19, there will be a bike ride to inaugurate the Tlalpan bike path, which runs from the Zócalo to Huipulco, right near Banorte Stadium. We’ll give you all the details.
The La Gran Tenochtitlán bike path will open this weekend and is part of the projects being carried out in Mexico City for the 2026 World Cup.
The route covers Calzada de Tlalpan and Avenida Pino Suárez. The starting point will be the capital’s Zócalo, while the finish line will be at the Kiosco de Huipulco. The route will be 16 km long.
What time will the ride for the inauguration of the Tlalpan bike path take place?

The event will begin at 8:00 a.m. at the Zócalo, where a monumental bicycle display will take place; the ride will start at 9:30 a.m. The ride is expected to end around 10:45 a.m.
Although the ride takes place in the morning, we recommend bringing water and wearing appropriate clothing to protect yourself from the sun. If you’re taking public transportation, you can bring your bike on the Metro and Metrobús (except Lines 4 and 7). Participation is free; all you need to bring is your bike. Don’t forget your helmet and other protective gear.
