If you’re thinking about adopting, this event could change everything. PetFest 2026 is coming to Mexico City with a different approach: here, you don’t choose—the dogs choose you. It’s called selective adoption, an innovative model that seeks to create more authentic bonds between humans and pets.
During this activity, the puppies interact freely with different people in a controlled environment. Based on their behavior, we identify who they connect with best, increasing the chances of a successful and lasting adoption. This event will take place on Saturday, May 23, at 7:30 p.m. as part of the festival at Campo Marte.
But that’s not all: the event is designed as a big pet-friendly celebration with activities for the whole family.
A festival full of experiences for you and your pet
In addition to selective adoption, PetFest will have it all: costume contests, designer fashion shows, grooming demonstrations, and training tips to improve your relationship with your furry friend.
There will also be organized walks for large dogs, small breeds, and even a nighttime walk for kittens. If you’re looking to relax, you can join meditation sessions with your pet or attend talks on animal welfare, featuring the participation of the Chemanimals veterinarian.
One of the highlights will be the exhibition by the Mexican Army’s K9 unit, where you’ll see dogs trained in rescue, tracking, and detection in action.
In addition, you’ll find a vendor area with products and services to pamper your best friend.
