During the first days of 2026 you will have to register your cell phone line. This is an official provision that will apply to all numbers and telephone numbers in Mexico.
These guidelines were approved by the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (CRT) in order to stop lines from being anonymous to face different types of crimes.
All mobile telephone lines will be linked to individuals or legal entities. Registrations will be made as of January 9.
How can I register my phone line this 2026?
Individuals will have to have their INE or passport ( in case of foreigners) and CURP, while companies will have to present their RFC. These documents will be associated to the line.
To do so, you must consult the customer service center of your telephone service. The registration will be done in person or remotely; all companies will enable a Platform for Management and Consultation of Mobile Telephone Lines, where you will have support, registrations and information about the associated lines.
Remember that only ten linked lines per person are allowed. If you do not follow this procedure, the service will be suspended, except for emergency calls and calls to the citizen attention number.
From January 9 you will have 120 working days to complete the registration, which means that it must be ready before the first half of 2026. Don’t miss it!
