Road closures, route, and time of the World Cup parade in Mexico City. The 2026 World Cup has already begun. As part of this sporting event, a parade will be held this weekend to showcase a bit of Mexican culture. You’ll see pre-Hispanic dancers, floats depicting other World Cups held in the country, and even giant balloons featuring the mascots from the 1970 and 1986 World Cups.
In addition, 50 catrinas will parade, and there will be a float inspired by the Day of the Dead to honor various soccer figures who have passed away. We’ll tell you all the details.
What time is the World Cup parade in Mexico City, and all the details about it
This parade will take place on Saturday, June 13, at 1:00 p.m. sharp. The route will begin at the Glorieta de la Diana Cazadora and end at the Monument to the Revolution. In other words, almost the entire route will be along Paseo de la Reforma.
This is a massive event, so we recommend arriving early to get a good spot. You can watch the parade from any point along the route.
Regarding traffic: The Traffic Guidance Center of the Mexico City Secretariat of Public Safety recommends the following alternative routes:
- Eje 1 Norte
- Circuito Interior
- Eje Central Lázaro Cárdenas
- Chapultepec Ave.
- Dr. Río de la Loza
And so you aren’t caught off guard, here’s the weather forecast. Remember that we’re in the middle of the rainy season. In fact, this weekend will be quite rainy in Mexico City. The National Weather Service forecasts heavy rain on Saturday afternoon, as well as a high of 23 to 25 degrees. So, if you plan to go out, don’t forget your umbrella or raincoat.
