Do you remember the little train in the second section of Chapultepec Forest? For several decades it offered tours for children and adults in this area of Mexico City; however, it officially closed in 2006 (almost 20 years ago). What was formerly the workshop became Espacio CDMX en Chapultepec, a place where architecture and design are the protagonists.
The creation of this place began with the rehabilitation of the workshop of the also called Tren Escénico. It officially opened in 2018 thanks to the collaborative work of Design Week and México Territorio Creativo. Since then it has hosted events and exhibitions. Have you visited it yet?
What’s on at Espacio CDMX Arquitectura y Diseño, in Chapultepec?
The main thing you’ll find here are temporary exhibitions. For example, you can currently see BE-LONGING, an art exhibition from the Mercedes Benz collection that will be available until August 31, 2025.
In addition, Espacio CDMX usually hosts different events and fairs. Through their social networks they usually share the activities they will have. So stay tuned for upcoming events. We highly recommend you to see the schedule before you go.
It is worth mentioning that this place does not forget its past as a little train; just outside the venue you will find tracks and a train that will surely bring you a lot of nostalgia. The venue is located at Avenida de los Compositores 4, second section of Bosque de Chapultepec, in the Miguel Hidalgo district. It is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10:30 am to 4:00 pm.
