If you are looking for a different and free plan in the CDMX, this incredible Picnic at Casa del Lago UNAM is for you.
This Saturday, August 30, the Sound Space of Casa del Lago, in the heart of Chapultepec Forest, will become the perfect place to share an outdoor lunch full of art, history and reflection.
The proposal is part of the exhibition “Conocer el mundo con la boca, sin que te piquen las espinas” and is organized in conjunction with the FEMSA Collection and the Colectivo Amasijo, a group of women who work from the kitchen to create community and care for the territory.
The Amasijo Collective, promoter of the activity, believes that food is a way to weave ties, take care of the land and remember that we are connected to nature.
About the Picnic Casa del Lago UNAM
The most special thing about this picnic is that it’s not just about eating: there will be an edible map, where each food item tells a story about the forest and its lake past. Amasijo invites attendees to learn, eat and discover with their mouths what has been hidden over time.
During the experience, simple but profound questions will be asked, such as: What makes a forest really a forest? What do the trees that have lived here for centuries tell us? Do grasshoppers still exist in Chapultepec?
More than just a simple lunch, this will be a space to talk about the first section of Chapultepec Forest, its landscapes, its memory and the changes it has experienced throughout history.
In addition, everything will be done in a relaxed atmosphere, like a picnic in the countryside, with a tablecloth and food that invites conviviality.
It is an ideal activity for those who love cultural plans, enjoy nature and want to take advantage of free events in CDMX.
