In response to the outpouring of solidarity from Mexicans and Venezuelans living in the country, the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in Mexico has set up a direct reception point for humanitarian aid at its headquarters in Mexico City.
According to the diplomatic mission, there is currently no coordination with civil society organizations or external collection centers for receiving donations. Therefore, those who wish to help can go directly to the embassy’s facilities to drop off supplies, which will be distributed to meet the needs of the Venezuelan people.
What can be donated to support Venezuela?
The embassy reported that it is primarily accepting medicines, essential medications, medical supplies, hygiene kits, and non-perishable food items. These items are prioritized due to the logistical requirements for their transport and distribution.
Among the most useful items are bandages, gauze, first-aid supplies, commonly used medications, personal hygiene products, and packaged food with a long shelf life.
It is important to note that bottled water is not being requested, as it takes up too much space during storage and transport.
Where to drop off donations in Mexico City
Those interested in helping can go directly to the embassy located in the Polanco neighborhood. Donations will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. today and will continue tomorrow as well.
According to information released by the embassy, the collected supplies will be handed over to the Armed Forces for distribution.
