If you’re looking for a free event this week, mark your calendar for these dates. The video mapping at the Palace of Fine Arts will take place on June 15 and 16 with an audiovisual show celebrating Mexico City’s musical history through lights, animations, and a soundtrack filled with rhythms that have shaped generations.
It is Memoria Luminosa IV: Mexico, City That Dances, an experience that will transform the façade of the Palacio de Bellas Artes into a giant screen to pay tribute to the musical genres that are part of the capital’s identity.
From danzón and salsa to cumbia, rock and roll, and reggaeton, the show will demonstrate how music has been a constant in the city’s daily life, from family gatherings and popular celebrations to major events that bring thousands of people together in public spaces.

The show will use monumental projection technology to visually transform one of the country’s most iconic venues. Through images, color, and sound, the audience will be able to journey through different eras and musical styles that have made the capital a place where there is always a reason to dance.
This edition is part of the Memoria Luminosa series, an initiative that in recent years has transformed historic squares and buildings into stages for narrating key moments in Mexican history and culture through large-scale immersive experiences.
On this occasion, the event highlights the musical richness of Mexico City and the way in which different genres have accompanied the lives of those who live in and visit the capital.
