Would you like to participate in the voting to choose the monumental ofrenda of the Zócalo for 2025? Then take note because you can choose your favorite this weekend.
A few weeks ago, Mexico City’s Ministry of Culture launched a call to choose the Day of the Dead monumental ofrenda that will be installed in the Zócalo this year. From this process six finalists were selected, whose proposals you can see to scale from August 8 to 10. The best part is that you can vote for your favorite.
The one with the most votes in this citizen consultation will be the one that will be installed from October 25 to November 2. This year’s theme will be the 700th anniversary of the founding of Mexico Tenochtitlan.
How to vote for the monumental offering in the Zócalo?

According to information from the Ministry of Culture you can participate in the voting this August 8, 9 and 10 from 12:00 to 20:00 hours. Six models will be installed; each one represents a finalist ofrenda.
You will be able to see each one up close and choose your favorite. One is made up of huge pyramids; another proposes to install giant skeletons, while another stands out for its marigold flowers.
Run to vote for your favorite. The Day of the Dead is just around the corner. The voting table is located in the Zócalo.
It is worth mentioning that the Zócalo is currently hosting the Fiesta de las Culturas Indígenas. Between August 8 and 24 you will find everything: typical dishes, music, dance performances and handicrafts.
In addition, there will be plays and presentations in which poetry in indigenous languages will be read. Access is free of charge.
