Authorities have announced when classes will resume throughout the State of Mexico, after school activities were suspended in 14 municipalities as a safety measure in response to the events that took place in Jalisco on February 22.
As you know, on Monday, February 23, classes were suspended at all educational levels in 14 municipalities in the State of Mexico: Axapusco, Huehuetoca, Donato Guerra, San José del Rincón, Jilotepec, San Antonio la Isla, Villa de Allende, Xonacatlán, Polotitlán, Tultitlán, Tecámac, Coacalco, Chalco, and Hueypoxtla.
When will classes resume throughout the State of Mexico?
Although there were rumors that this suspension would last several days, authorities in the State of Mexico announced that school activities will resume as usual on Tuesday, February 24.
“As a result of ongoing monitoring of security conditions, face-to-face school activities will resume as normal in the state’s 125 municipalities starting on Tuesday, February 24,” according to an information card.
In the case of Mexico City, classes were not suspended, so activities continue as normal.
It is worth mentioning that institutions such as the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and the Ibero explained that classes would continue on Monday, February 23; however, students who did not attend would be excused.
